Anstruther Duck Race

Each year, on the Saturday before Easter, Anstruther Improvements Association (AIA) launches 1,000 numbered rubber ducks into the Dreel Burn in a race to the finish line.

The ducks are sponsored by members of the community, and local businesses donate prizes, providing a welcome way to fundraise for the charity. 

The prize giving event, held after the race at the AIA’s home, Dreel Halls, includes an Easter bonnet competition for all ages and prize giving for a ‘Design a Duck’ colouring competition. 

The annual duck race event is a much loved and widely anticipated community celebration, supported by local people and visitors to the East Neuk.
